ChemSense Software Download
ChemSense software was developed as part of a non-profit research project and is licensed
for evaluation purposes only, without warranty or technical support.
Sample curriculum
activities, sample student work, and
quick start guides are available.
Three software packages are available: The ChemSense Animator, the ChemSense Studio Client, and
the ChemSense Server. Each requires Java 1.3 or higher, and 192 MB or more of RAM is recommended.
Installers for Windows and Mac OS X are available.
Current version: 3.0.11 (7/16/08). See the Version
History for a list of changes for each release.
ChemSense (Java) source code is also available under an open source license on
SourceForge.
Feel free to extend the code to meet your needs.
What Software Should I Download?
Choose the ChemSense Animator if you just want to evaluate ChemSense or construct
animations but you do not have a login account. If you just came across ChemSense
on the web and want to get a quick idea of what it can do, choose this.
If you have been given a login account by your instructor to use ChemSense in your class,
then choose the ChemSense Studio Client. If you are an advanced user who is familiar
with ChemSense, and you want to set up and manage ChemSense accounts for others, choose
the ChemSense Server.

ChemSense Animator Installer for Windows (5 MB). Requires Java 1.3 or higher installed on your computer.
If you want to be able to export animations to
Quicktime, you must have Quicktime version 7 or higher installed. ChemSense
can export animations to animated GIFs, so if this meet your needs, you don't need
to install Quicktime. |

If you want to be able to export animations to

ChemSense Server Installer
The ChemSense Server installer will install the ChemSense server application
on your computer. The installation also contains a
README-SERVER file
that contains instructions on how to run and administer your
ChemSense Server, as well as technical notes regarding how you can hook up different
databases to your server, if desired.
Requirements: Java 1.4 or higher must be installed separately. At least 256 MB of RAM
is recommended.
